Medium-sized cats from around the world

Medium-sized cats from around the world

Cats come in two kinds, right? Big huge things that roam the wilds of Africa and Asia, hunting prey and roaring everywhere. And the humble domestic cat, leaving you half-dead birds and lounging in the most inconvenient places.

Everything you've always wanted to know about coconuts

Coconuts: What are they and what do they do?

Over 62 million tonnes of coconuts are grown worldwide every year and, if you think that sounds like an awful lot of Malibu and Bountys, it just shows how little you must know about them.

Everything you’ve always wanted to know about turtles, tortoises and terrapins

They’re the world’s most fearsome fighting team. They’re heroes in a half shell, and they’re green. They love pizza, nunchucks and garbage trucks… Sorry about that – I had a brief flashback to my childhood then.

6 healthy eating habits from around the world

I did that post-Christmas double-take earlier when I looked in the mirror and realised that one just cannot breathe in that many mince pies. I know that we’re a couple of weeks in now but there are still toffee pennies left and it feels like it would be unfair to leave them out, you know?

Weird food combinations from around the world

Weird food combinations from around the world

I have a Spanish friend who balks when he sees me liberally applying vinegar to my chips. Apparently, in Spain NO ONE puts vinegar on their chips – it’s weird. They do, however, put it on their strawberries. And that’s not weird. This got me thinking about flavour combinations that are considered perfectly acceptable in some places, but have the potential to give British taste buds a panic attack.
